The Kyle Bailey Foundation was created in 2018 by Kyle Bailey. Kyle was Michigan's only four organ transplant recipient. Kyle was born with Cystic Fibrosis. He grew up taking medications, going to the hospital if he was ever sick. Kyle just wanted to be a "normal kid". In June 2011 at the age of 26, He received a bi-lateral lung transplant at the University of Michigan after being on the list for almost ten months. The following year, Kyle ran across the state of Michigan, from Lexington to Muskegon. Over 205 miles all to raise organ donation awareness. In late 2015, Kyle was diagnosed with cirrhosis and kidney failure and was very ill. In January 2016, Kyle was put into the ICU at the University of Michigan again and was placed on the transplant list for a liver and kidney on February 22nd. On February 24th, Kyle got the call that he would be getting another chance at life. He received a liver and kidney and was on his way back to recovery. Following, Kyle wanted to give back. He knew there is more than one-hundred thousand people waiting for an organ transplant and he was given a chance twice. Kyle created the Kyle Bailey Foundation to raise organ donation awareness and to help families with children that have medical disabilities. Kyle has performed many fundraisers and giving back to his community and to raise awareness. In 2021, Kyle was diagnosed with rejection of the lungs. He was still determined to give back even if he was given another chance at life. In September, Kyle W. Bailey passed, but his legacy will forever live on.
